How was your half term break? I expect some of you enjoyed paddling pools, watching your bug hotels, BBQ s, picnics, walks with the family and talking to friends online. Please let us know what your highlight of the week was, as we enjoy listening to your half term adventures.
We hope you are all well and ready to embrace our final term together. Unfortunately we are returning to home learning and we just need to continue learning this way for now. Below are your learning tasks for today, please let us know how your home learning works out today by blogging a comment or emailing us at year.2@ctk.education.
Today's Learning Tasks:
Warm up your body
Get ready for learning by either creating your own warm up or completing a warm up exercise of your choice (Go Noodle, Cosmic Kids, Disney Shake Up or Joe Wicks).

Reading
Please spend 10 minutes reading and respond to the appropriate question below.
Fiction text - describe what the main character looked like.
Non-fiction text - what kind of things would you expect to read in this book?
As we are into a new term you may appreciate a new site for accessing different ebooks. As a school we have recently discovered Love Reading, which shares free children's ebooks and book related activities. Just like Oxford Owl, there is a requirement to create a free account. Some of the books are only recommendations for purchasing.

PSHE
Catch up with our loveable giraffe Harold by reading his diary entry for today.
Afterwards spend some time listening to the news report about the SpaceX craft which landed at the space station yesterday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/news/watch_newsround
Star of the Day
Our Star of the Day is Macy. She produced a beautifully illustrated letter to Mr and Mrs Cobbler.
We were impressed with the way she organised her writing into two paragraphs, to focus first on Mr and Mrs Cobbler and then on describing what the elves had been up to. As well as illustrating the letter with images of places from all around the world, which provide clues to the places Clary, Pepper and Jas had visited - well done Macy!
Daily Reflection
It is so good to be back. We have enjoyed hearing what you have got up to during the half term break and seeing the work you have produced today. Our highlight of the day has been the PSHE diary entry, because it focused on a book called Everybody Worries. The message of the story is so powerful, if you have not looked at this learning task yet please create some time to look at it tomorrow.
