Good morning Year 2,
We have just two days left to go and then it will be summer chilling here we come. I wonder what your plans are for the summer? A holiday at home or going away? Beaches and ice cream or adventurous walks? Whatever you are doing make sure you have fun creating happy memories with your family.

Our phonics this week is split into three sections.
1. Write out the alphabet both lowercase and in capitals.
2. Play Time Challenge Phase 5 using Phonics Play.
3. Think of some words that have the 'ay' sound in. After write questions that contain these words, remember to finish each one with a question mark. For example:

Today we would like you to turn to page 13-15, which guide you through a Description Challenge to draw the animals that are described in an additional verse of Quangle Wangle. Then write descriptions for both of the animals.

1. Count up to 100 and then back down in 10s. Can you complete this in less than 2 minutes?
2. Practice counting in 5s. For example 1 x 5 = 5, 2 x 5 = 10 . . .
3. Answer subtraction number sentences from either challenge 1 or challenge 2, remember to count back by drawing jumps on a line.
