Good morning Year 2,
Today we are expecting heavy rain and so prepare to get wet during any daily walks. I will be going out with Abby to search for some deep puddles to jump in. It may seem crazy, but we have lots fun doing this.
Your learning tasks for today
Reading
Read one of your school reading books for 10 minutes and ask someone to listen to your response to one of these questions:
Fiction: If you were going to interview the main character what questions would you ask?
Non Fiction: What is the title of the text?
Phonics
If you would like some phonic practice there are now daily online lessons you can watch that are aimed at Year 1 but are good for Year 2 too. Yesterday focused on ay and today focuses on a-e.

The Magical Teaching Box
Today we would like you to focus on page 6, which requires you to read the next part of the story and then draw/write what could be in the box.

Reading Past Times on an Analogue Clock
Today you are reading past times including quarter past. To do this point the hour hand towards a number and point
the minute hand at 12. Then move the minute hand in 5 minute intervals and say the
time up to half past. For example:
5 minutes past 2
10 minutes past 2
Quarter past 2
20 minutes past 2
25 minutes past 2
Half past 2
Nigeria
Look at these photos of rural Nigeria and describe how the environment is similar to where you live.
Daily Reflection
Today has been a very quiet day as we have only had contact with some of the class. It has been encouraging to hear a couple of you have watched the BBC Bitesize learning session today and found it really helpful. Everyday they cover different subjects, the link below shows what is coming up during the rest of this week.
