Good morning Year 2,
We have been given another wonderful day to learn at home with our families. It has been a very different year to what any of us could have ever imagined. Yet, it is a year during which we have been blessed with extra time to create many special memories with those we live with.
We hope you enjoyed the three day weekend.
Today's learning tasks
Warm up your body
Get ready for learning by joining Joe Wicks for a 30 minute exercise class. You can find his live exercise class by searching 'The Body Coach' on YouTube.
Reading
We will spend the first part of this week learning the text 'Chocolate Cake', which is a poem written by Michael Rosen. Today we would like you to watch Michael Rosen perform his poem and then answer the questions:
Do you think Michael’s mum did remember what happened next time she made chocolate cake? What might she have said to him?
The Magical Teaching Box
First turn to page 13, which requires you to identify apostrophes and write examples containing apostrophes.
Afterwards move onto page 14-15, which requires you to read the poem to someone at home and then respond to the questions about the poem.

2D Shapes
As you are so good at telling the time we are moving on to revise our understanding of shapes. You will be using an online teaching resource for this, which has been created by the Oak National Academy. Each lesson contains quizzes and an online teaching lesson.
Choose 'lesson 1: To identify shapes by the number of sides and vertices'.

Good afternoon Year 2, this is week 6 of home learning and we know many of you are finding this shut in increasingly difficult. As well as home learning please find time to enjoy going for walks, being creative, playing games and having fun with your family.
